How to get beautiful, shiny hair!

So lately, I've gone very light blonde with my hair! And I noticed after this last time I colored it (I get asked a lot who colors my hair and I say Loreal!) the ends seemed a bit dry and "crunchy".  Even though this texture does wonder for extra volume with my fine straight hair, I ultimately want shiny, healthy hair. Especially because you don't see too many platinum blondes with healthy, soft, shiny hair. And dry damaged hair is very dull and one dimensional. Save $ on highlights and try some of these tips for healthy, multi-dimensional hair!

First off, I brush my hair very well so I don't have to deal with tangles in the shower, and it's easier to apply the oil. Then, I warm a small bowl of coconut oil in the microwave for about 20-25 seconds. I then flip my hair upside down, rub the oil in my palms and start applying it to the ends first and then I work my way to the roots. (Now, I usually deal with oily hair, but since I've been doing this routine, my hair produces less oil. So if you have oily hair, don't be afraid to try some of these treatments!) To use up all the oil, I'll dip my ends in the remaining oil to really hydrate where I need it most. I then put my hair in a bun and put a disposable shower cap on. (I reuse the same one for my coconut oil treatments.) I leave it in my hair for anywhere from 30 minutes to overnight and then head to the shower.

In the shower, I flip my hair upside down and use shampoo (preferably sulfate free) all over the roots of my hair, about 2 to 3 inches out from the scalp. Rinse it out immediately. To cleanse all my hair I use Loreal sulfate free cleansing conditioner. It's a fairly new product, and I highly recommend this! It truly cleanses your hair while leaving it feel like silk! I use this all over my head, root to tip. I make sure to really give it a good massage all over and a good rinse. This is great if you use a lot of product in your hair. It's
a great way to cleanse without stripping your hair of it's essential oils.

Next I use a great conditioner, Nutritional Acai Berry Avocado Conditioner by Organix. I apply this to the ends, leaving the first 2-3 inches of my roots with no product (especially the roots around my face). I leave it on while I wash my body and shave my legs, and give it a good rinse.

After towel drying my hair, I ran some Moroccan oil through the ends, ending about half way up. And then used my normal volumizing products and styled as normal. I've loved how soft and shiny my hair is! I hope you all find this helpful!
